This programme is very interesting. I have not seen many yet, but I aim to. The last one was the making of sweetmeats for Holi, and I love Indian sweetmeats, this was really interesting for me. The recipes were repeated with ingredients and quantities so it was easy to follow. There is a guest showing something they regularly make at home. I find this quite amusing as the cook, Rakeshi Sethi, tends to take over and boss them about, which is rather mean but I don't think he realises that he is doing it!

The episodes I have seen have been Vegetarian, so I hope the whole series is as I do not want to watch meat preparations. The repeat of the recipes is printed clearly on the screen as list in large letters. Useful to have a pen and paper handy or to videotape the programme so you can go through the procedure again.

Everything demonstrated is clear, and the background music and presentation is pleasant and bright. Now I just have to find out what some of the untranslatable ingredient are and I can start making my own !

This programme is shown on Star Plus, but the day and time of showing will vary depending

on the satellite or other source from which you are viewing it. On Sky, I last saw the show on a Saturday lunchtime, but I believe current shows in India are around 1 o'clock lunchtime on Sundays.

Further information on this programme, which includes latest recipes, ingredients, and English equivalents of hard to translate items, can be found on this website; https://mirchmasala.indya.com/. I hope you find this information useful.
