Who is secular?
Was Jinnah alone that strong that he could divide the country in to two? Or were Mahatma Gandhi, Pandit Jawahar Lal Nehru, Sardar Patel & many more that weak that they could not stop the partition? Jinnah is not & cannot be the only person responsible for the Indo-Pak partition.
Jinnah was a man of unity & dignity. A person can’t be judged black & white. His personal life clearly shows that he was not at all a kattar Muslim as he had never went to mosque for namaz. He had married a Persian lady & never asked her to convert her religion. These things show that he was a man with wide & modern thoughts.
The debate that whether he was secular or anti secular is base less as its very clear that he was not at all anti secular as he had always wanted a secular Pakistan & acted as a peace ambassador between Hindu-Muslim.
In 1940 Jinnah had felt the need for Pakistan with the Attitude & lust of Nehru to be the prime minister. He had very rightly realized Muslims may not get equal rights & the deserving status as the seed of hatred have already been sown by that time in the hearts of Hindus & Muslims against each other. We can very well see the impact even today. Godhra rights & Babri Masjid demolition are the biggest & the current examples. Why to go on any other issue the issue of Advani’s statement in favor of Jinnah itself speaks the hatred in the hearts of many Hindus for a great Muslim freedom fighter, Pakistan & Muslims. RSS, VHP even BJP publicly make statements about eradicating Muslims from India.
These very few examples very clearly show who was secular or anti secular & who is secular or anti secular.
