Remedy for the reservation problem:
A) IIT / IIM / Premier Institutes
- Provide reservation to ONLY ONE MEMBER of an OBC / SC / ST family. This one is enough to raise standards amongst the under priviledged. This is a lead, which the rest of the family can take, learn, work hard and prosper on merit. This will reduce the demand for reservation from 27% to less than that.
Example: If I am Mr. X.Obc, and have availed one seat under the quota hood, my sons, Y.Obc and Z.Obc are deemed to be not backward anymore.
Question before the Govt.: How long will the backward remain backward?
- Reservation must apply on monetary condition of the family. Those living below the poverty line, should be eligible for the same. So, the balance from 27% should then belong to the financially weak, non SC/ST/OBC's. Who helps the brahmin richshaw pullers and sweepers of Delhi?
Question before the govt.: Does the Manmohan Singh Govt. not require the vote bank of the poor?
B) Private Sector:
- Reservation for OBC's, SC / ST's can be made in the form of a social welfare organization, participated by corporate giants. A part of our income tax can proceed toward setting up and maintaining such an organization. Put the SC's et.al. to test by providing them with the miscelaneous jobs, that are routine and non-complex in nature, and see how the SC's et.al. fare. Outstanding SC's or OBC's can then be considered for a permanent position within the corporates.
Question before the corporates: If the government agrees, do you agree to the above?
I may have put forward some stupid issues, but the fact is, I have been watching theis drama for the past 10 years. We are mute spectators. I can only appeal to the govt. to think using their brains, and not let India be labelled as a nation of worthless individuals. The govt. needs to understand that we are competing with nations like Poland, China and Brazil, who donot have reservations like we do.
