I have had the Xbox for almost a year now. That beast which looks like a VCR, the power supply, another small console, sits atop my desk, mighty, drawing in humongous amount of electricity and bandwidth.

Surely, a beast has its needs. Xbox One is just another reason for Microsoft to milk all your hard earned money. Do not get me wrong, but you'll feel good as you part with your money to finally unite with this beast.

With a library of well over 200 games, it surely is the best place to play(not if you already own a powerful rig). It runs quite and cool(which explains the humongous size), and is a considerable upgrade over the 360.

The glossy part of the console is prone to scratches, and attracts fingerprints. It sports a USB port at the side, which is a good addition. A 500 gig hard drive may feel enough at first, but as your library grows, cramming in even 15 games will be a daunting task.

It runs most of the games at 720p, which is quite decent. Titles like Gears of War, Forza, Rocket League, however runs at 1080p at 60fps(these numbers are important for competitive FPS games). It is capable of multitasking, without the frame drops, and one can watch YouTube while severing the locust horde. However, the tagline "next-gen" is not justified. It runs just like any other medium-end gaming PC. But honestly, gaming on a console is a whole different experience. With the new XOE update, over a hundred 360 titles are playable on the XO via. backwards compatibility.

The controller is a true artistic creation. It sits just right in your palms, and feels like a powerful and functional piece of hardware. It is built to take abuse, and can handle the wrath of angry gamers. The rumble units, held in by the triggers is another sweet addition. The buttons feel good and responsive. The only downside is that you still have to buy the Play and Charge Kit separately. The controller can also be used on a Windows PC.

It still requires a day one update, which is well over a GB(i had a 400 MB update). The games come in with day one patches, to be downloaded over the internet(Witcher 3 has a 16 GB patch). The marketplace still requires a credit card to buy games and the Gold Membership, which people no likey. However, 350 bucks a month seems justified seeing the service and the multilayer experience it provides.

The Pros:

A huge library of games. future proof. Quick and responsive UI. Backwards Compatibility. Support for HoloLens. Great controller. Xbox Live

The Cons:

Bulky. Glossy finish. Does not come equipped with Play and Charge Kit. No debit card or PayPal option for payment
