Good to show off, good for a job. Review on Microsoft MCSE

MCSE is a good certification. I am currrently doing MCSE on windows 2003 track, studying from a nearby institute. MCSE is a good certification that has a lot of value. but then again, its just something that helps you get noticed, ofcourse its not gonna guarantee you a great job, unless you have the knowledge and experience to back it up.

all these certifications are great feathers in your cap. they're like good clothes, if u wear good clothes people will notice you - but unless you have subtance you're not getting any further. this is what MCSE is all about. we all know that in india its very easy to be MCSE certified considering the amount of help & advice available at our disposal. for the same reason dont expect that being an MCSE will guarantee you're an expert - all it will guarantee is that your resume will be treated in a better way than any other person's resume who is applying for the same job, without an MCSE. mcse is for showoffs, it helps you get noticed. the rest is up to you!

so guys, focus more on learning and not just the certification. in case you want to do MCSE, you try to learn how the whole servers and DNS and DHCP and active directory works, and dont just be short sighted enough to memorize mock papers and forget altogether the whole point of the game. coz a guy with an MCSE and no real substance is not gonna land up with something worth the MCSE tag.

remember, MCSE can help you get treated with respect. it cannot guarantee you something solid and real.
