When there is a never ending Race between all the high end Phones in the Market, Micromax has gifted the Canvas HD with all the features in an affordable price of Rs 15000.
The phone has a solid look and hold nicely on your palm. The plastic quality is also good. From no angle does it looks like a budget phone. The screen is a HD screen with a resolution of 1280 x 720 Pixels, which is much capable to generate vibrant color and life like pictures.
The phone comes with a 1 GB DDR2 RAM and 4 GB internal memory. This amount of RAM is decent to run most of the applications. This phone is powered by Android v4.1.2(Jelly Bean) OS and supports dual SIM(GSM+ GSM). I have found the touch response is very smooth.
It has an 8 MP primary camera which takes good pictures in light. The camera lacks to take good picks in low light. overall Micromax needs put some more effort on the camera quality in future models. The 2 MP front camera is good for Skype.
You won't get an external micro SD card inside the box. I got a separate one by paying Rs. 1000.
If you would like to have a Flip cover, the original micromax flip cover will cost you around Rs. 700.
The only problem I have found with the phone is the head phones sound quality. The headphone provided with the phone is not upto the mark. even with a better head phone you can expect a bit sound quality improvement. But the overall experience to listen music on this phone is that great in compare to Galaxy Grand.
Again with this price range, you can expect everything to be perfect:) .
The GPS works fine with 3G connection. With 2G, sometime GPS needs time to connect to the satellite.
At last the most important factor. the battery life. With 2G on you can survive for 10-14 Hrs(Depends on your usage). With 3G it will reduce further. With Quad core processor, we expected to have a more powerful battery.
All the sensors(Gravity Sensor, Accelerometer, Proximity Sensor, Light Sensor) works great. You will get Blue tooth version 4 which is the latest . Overall, with 15000 price range, this is a great phone to have. No other phone in the market is providing this many features with this price tag(I still need to check the Karbonn titanium s5 which is around 12000). By considering all the aspects, its a must buy phone and micromax is a promising company in India. Support centers are growing and hope very soon they would be able to cope up with Nokia and Samsung. Its not a Chinees manufactured mobile, its build in India. Here is the technical aspect of this Phone. I will post an another review on detail call quality and Picture quality of this Phone soon.
