So much hype for this phone. Review on Micromax Canvas 4

Micromax has shown many advertisements about this phone and created a huge buzz even before its release. So, is it worth all the hype it has gained?

Okay, the first thing I notice in a phone is the Camera, though canvas 4 promises 13 mega pixel rear camera and 5 mega pixel front camera with a LED flash it is not up to the mark. The pictures clicked during day time are good but as the light decreases they turn grainy and unclear in the absence of proper light. I wish they could improve the camera quality a bit. And the front camera is decent for making video calls.

The next thing is how the phone looks, like any other smartphone it has a 5 inch display and three touch buttons at the front bottom for home, menu and back. The power and the volume buttons are on the right and left side of the button respectively, but they are not properly fixed so you feel like they will drop down from the phone at any time.

If you have seen Canvas2 and Canvas HD you will notice that Canvas 4 is similar to them except the aluminium frame provided to the phone which makes it look a bit tough.The Micromax Canvas 4 runs Android 4.2.1 Jelly Bean. I don't want to mention more about this  as everyone knows what this means.

Like Samsung Galaxy s4, this phone also features the pause video option when you look away which works fine. And also you can control the volume by swiping up and down the screen while playing the video.

The one thing I love is the battery life, though I always keep my data connection on and use WhatsApp all day long, the phone lasted for 8 hours.

This phone also plays full HD video clips in most of the formats available, and the video recording is good.

It has 1 GB RAM and 16GB internal storage. The camera also has editor options in it.The phone includes some of micromax own apps like M!live and M!zone which I don't find very useful, but something is better than nothing.

Overall, the phone is good but in this price, there are better phones available.
