Micromax is an indian brand, but like other phone makers it doesnt manufacture its own phones, they even dont assemble. All micromax phones are imported from china, there is a reason behind, and we all know getting manufactured from a chinese manufacturer is more cost effective than manufacturing or assembling in own country. But in past 5-7 years micromax gained good popularity because of affordability. Just because we get the same or latest version Android OS on micromax that too at affordable price we ignore its hardware aspects. Canvas is a flagship brand of micromax and A76 was streamlined version of the previous canvas phone. 5 inch touch was responsive but later it started showing touch lags. Display though 5 inch lcd, nice resolution but viewing angle was worst. Internal memory is ok 2gb was user available out of 4GB apps can also be installed on SD card. 512 ram was its biggest drawback 24×7 this ram was fully used by phone hardly 80-90 mb remains free and mains reason for this was bloatware installed in the phone. Android 4.2.2 jellybean was provided in it but it was actually last upgraded version of jellybean which had some features of kitkat which was an upcoming OS. Camera on micromax are never good, only on some models cameras ok. Even this model camera was 5mp but picture quality seems like 3.2 mp. I would say Even nokia feature phone cameras are better than these. Body casing was also the biggest drawback in this phone, made from low quality non ABS plastic. If you drop this phone it will definitely break your touch and your lcd might run out in some display problem. Battery is only one good thing in it, it lasts a day even after good amount of usage and standbytime was good. But on 3G intrernet usage it really drains fast.
I never recommend this phone to anyone. Do not compromise on quality.
