Here is my 1st review on mouthshut . its about my Micromax A101. I want to share all its pros and cons.
From the year 2012 till today micromax has been quite aggressive in indian mobile market and introduced five phones A100, A90, A101, A110 & A116 and stood competitor for top brands. While A100, A110 & A116 are very popular and A90 & A101 are not that popular in market. Unfortunately my mobile is not listed in popular ones but still compete with them.
I have been using this mobile since January and my experience was good overall.
Design and build of the mobile is not that great but better in handling. Back panel is made up of plastic and it doesn’t have a gorilla glass and it has a reflective screen.
It is a dual sim mobile which was my main requirement, and the switching in between two sims was very good, and call quality was ok.
It has a 5 inch display and I must admit that Display is very bad and very cheap, micromax should improve in this. In sunlight u see nothing on the screen its even hard if u keep your brightness full. They should have used ips or amoled like A90.
Coming to camera its ok type. It has a 5 mega pixel and vga front camera. 5 mp camera does a good job but forget about the vga camera its good for nothing.
A101 is equipped with good hardware Dual Core 1 Ghz & 512 Mb ram, performance is very nice and smooth but it lags only when you overload apps. Android 4.0 ics does a good job its snappy and cool. But still micromax didn’t announced any jelly bean update for this.
It has 4 gb internal memory where 2gb is for apps and 2gb for data storage, it also has a 32gb expandable slot. I have added 16 gb memory card and no issues.
7. Browsing in the mobile gives you a rich experience on 5 inch big screen. I use dolphin browser and its very smooth and lag free, but do remember that stock browser lags a bit.
- Last but not the least, 2100 mah Battery does a great job and gives me a full day heavy usage in(sync off). Im happy with the battery overall performance.
All the above listed points describes the cons & pros of the mobile, it’s purely my opinion but not to forget micromax aggressive pricing. Yes u can get all these features at only 9500 rupees. Mobile is still available in popular online sites like flipkart. Remember that with the same specs top brands would provide you at more than 15, 000+ rupees. Now choice is in your court.
