I have lived in Michigan all my life. I grew up in the heart of the state in Battle Creek.
Michigan has 4 distinct seasons. Winter can be very cold and snowy. Summer is warm and humid. Autumn and Spring are mild and temperate.
Michigan is surrounded on 4 sides by water. Water sports and lots of recreation centered on water take place here.
There are many tourist attractions and interesting things to see. Greenfield Village and the Henry Ford Museum in Detroit are very interesting. There is the Cereal City USA in Battle Creek, a flight museum in Kalamazoo, the windmills of Holland and miles of beautiful shoreline and beaches. Mackinaw Island and the Mackinaw Bridge are huge
tourist attractions with all sort of other sights in the area. Detroit and Grand Rapids both offer wonderful zoos.
Michigan offers something for everyone, old or young. There are year-round activities so visit in any season.
There are major airports in Detroit, Kalamazoo and Grand Rapids. The Amtrak trains run from Chicago to Detroit with all stop in between. Most major cities and larger towns are also serviced by Grayhound.
Michigan is a wonderful state and I would recommend that anyone come and visit!
