Lemme finish what I got instead of the paneer tikka before you fall off your chairs in anticipation and longing!!!
Well...some of my friends being vegetarians, we had to order some good vegetarian starters, and hence my friend ordered the universal fave 'Paneer Tikka'!
A few minutes later ( maybe they were more than a few minutes ) the waiter brought us our 'Paneer Tikka'! You wont be able to imagine my shock when all I could see on the platter was a few yellow 'rolls' that did not even resemble any form of Paneer for a thousand miles!
I thought my eyes were playing a trick on me but I even saw my friends' eyeballs popping at the sight of our 'Paneer Tikka'.
I asked the waiter what it was and he gave me one of those 'pata nahi kahan kahan se chale aate hain' looks and said 'Paneer Tikka! Aap hi ne order kiya tha'!
I was stumped.. what could I say to this smart Alec who thinks this is the first time I am trying out Paneer tikka ! Well, there was nothing we could do about it and we silently tucked into it hoping it would have some tiny amount of Paneer in it!
And what horror! it looked like 'besan' and tasted like it too!! There was nothing we could do about it and we started playing a smart game of passing the platter around and anyone who held it had to have a piece of 'Paneer Tikka'!
Games apart, the rest of the main course was quite ok. The Mushroom Bhuna dish was good. The 'jeera rice' was oily. But as some of my friends have already written, its a place meant for those office parties ( when some poor bakra has to cough up dough when he/she is going onsite / getting engaged/married/ any other 'party' worthy event)
If you work in Hinjewadi and have realised the absolute dearth of restaurants, Mezza9 is like a breath of fresh air.. at least till the time you actually visit the place!
I would reserve this place only for business/work related outings and would stay away from taking my family/friends there. Ambience is good since the hotel is in Hinjewadi and caters to the IT crowd there and prices are not too eye-popping! Average in terms of food as well ( will comment on the non veg food once I go there again) Hope this helps!
