Turbulent marriage + extra marital affairs….

A marriage that has been through the whole saga of volatile fighting to a point where you feel that even arguing is hopeless… So you come to a point where you can’t stand your spouse, have a decent conversation with, let alone share your highs and lows with. So don’t even find it necessary to wish each other on the anniversaries. What does the guy do? Drown in work… sleep with his assistant cuz shes so “easy to be with”. What does the girl do? Wander around day after day… raising her child, till one day she gets strangely attracted to a hot stranger (who incidentally has also walked outta a marriage).

How do they react when they come to know of each others infidelity?

You get a sense of deja-vu of a smashing “Story of us”(Michelle Pfeiffer, Bruce Willis). This ones pretty realistically portrayed, debate about how it ended can be endless… guess we got the comments section for that

28 year old single woman working in the big city lights MUMBAI= shaadi.com + where-on-earth-is-my-mr.right-syndrom

After a bunch of no-balls, she bumps into a “queer” 38 yr old man (thru the website)… who blatantly stares at her you-know-what… and makes blunt remarks as to why he hasn’t liked a girl till now. So she obviously gets startled, and ignores his proposal, has a crush on some guy closest around her, transforms her self with face masks, contact lens, and all that jazz…. All in the quest to find a nice guy “loving, caring, bla bla bla..”.

There’s a r’ship chaos around her… her sisters marriage falling apart, her roommate falling deeper into the pit of fatal r’ships… she realizes that irrespective of whatever happens, life’s about taking chances and she ends up doing something she just couldn’t have imagined!

So she does go ahead with a queer 38 yr old. Realistic? Umm I dunno. Cuz I can put my self in her shoes… in fact I AM wearing, walking, running in her shoes (i mean with respect to meeting weirdos thru arranged marriage rituals! oh yes! I have!)… may be I will not end up with a weird oldie, but hey! It’s the message sent across that counts! Anyways, we all loved this track… really sweet!

Fatal attraction with a married man….

If Mallika Sherawat is the reigning sex-goddess pls welcome the goddess of psychotic behavior, perpetual drunkenness, sprinkled with a quantitative dose of suicide attempts! Kangana Ranaut! This city has made me strong she says… has it made her mad too? Living her life aimlessly, on the edge… pinning hopes on being the receiving end of “true love” from someone who barely cares about his own wife! Moving from one doomed r’ship to another, blaming it all on her painful childhood. She finally uses her brains and finds her foothold & her love of her life in a “nice guy” at work.

(Wonder how she will survive a normal life!!)

Uncle log!

You’ve seen in too many love-stories…. Love-struck people confessing their devotion to their “soul-mates”- against all odds/ at the risk of it not working out/ as the risk of being denied. Not being sure of whether it would be the correct thing to do, not being worried about the outcome, but just to put aside this one question that may nag them till their death-beds: “what if….”

You got one such lovely story here. Two 60 yr olds, had been lovers & had made their choices decades back... to live separate lives. At the sunset of their lives, the “what if” lingers at the back of their minds as they regret all those years. It drives them to meet each other as they’re still in love and they end up living the most fulfilling days till the very end.

"Lusty” Love Triangle---

What if you’re really ambitious, wanna make big money for a good cause, are in love with a pretty girl at work and you come to know that you’re boss has been sleeping with her & using YOUR apartment for the same! Would you play along cuz the boss has been gifting you promotions one after the other, and planning for investors in your project, all in exchange of the key to yr apartment OR go with your heart, bag the babe and ditch all the money and dreams of yr life?

Hindi fillum—he does what is expected outta a hindi fillum hero. I think its really sweet of him to love the babe with open arms in spite of knowing about her suicidal tendencies, openness to sleep around with married men and general chaos. Aisa bhi hota hai bhai.

Performances

Sharmaan Joshi sans the comedy was a treat to watch! Yes we all felt good/bad for him in his good/bad times. Shilpa Shetty—we shall all agree aint all so-much-fuss-about-nothing! She’s good. K K Menon, wow ! thankfully we do not have him in a loser type role (so what if he’s a bad husband!) – a good follow-up to Black Friday (I dunno why ppl raved abt him in corporate etc….Jesus). Shiney Ahuja looked pretty. Pretty hot. Nafisa Ali & Dharmendra look very elegant… brought a smile every time they were on! Kangana Ranuat suited the role… well, she has been practicing so well. The one who took the cake was Konkana Sen Sharma & Irrfan Khan. Konkana’s THE most finest actresses we have as on date. Fresh, natural, pretty, and EXCEPTIONALLY TALENTED. Irrfaan’s character if played by anyone else would’ve fallen flat on the face!

Overall a good movie, worth a watch. Mumbai has been picturised well… and has me all waiting for the rains to take all the misery of the scorching heat away! We’ve got soft-rock music being played by a rock band led by Preetam… which not only blends well into the rains but beautifully takes the story forward by accentuating the agony experienced by the characters in their quest for a happy life.

The revu is descriptive about the story, w/o divulging many details though. I’ve taken the liberty considering the fact that the movie- trailers say it all anyways!
