Director Anurag Basu comes up with a movie that is close to commom mass lives.it includes each and every detail of human emotions and relations, be it of any age or any class across the country.
here in this movie we can see ups and downs of human relations and even the silent sighs, the fine expressions of happiness, helplessness, frustrations and dreams.
Konkona's life is in the movie is very close to many of citi girls' lives who have migrated from a smaller place for livelihood with dreams and when they find themselves alone, when they look for a soul mate, a support, a friend.this movies proves that love happens beyond age when we find Amol and Amma's fresh feelings for each other even after 40 years long time gap.i felt the refreshing when a girl was getting drenched in rain, soothing her silent wounds, even she tried to finish her life she still feels to live her life to the fullest.it expresses the latent desire of every human being to live not just to survive.but here Mr Basu failed to come out of so called indian tradition so the houese wife Shilpa goes against of her dreams and happiness, she selects to be with her husband and not with her dreams.this thing I personally dont like.i believe women should not compromise with theit dignity and dreams after all they also are human being who have the right to live and to be happy even if it goes against the so called social tradition.
Dilemma of a house wife, the compromise and patience, the morale, dignity - all the minute yet very significant detail of the feelings which are very true in our lives.how a guy comes with a bunch of dreams from a small place and how he conquers and finally he finds the true essence of life.
i liked every detail of the movie - there is no such story in the movie as such but Mr Basu has played beautifully with the rainbow of emotions and expressions.i must mention that the back ground musc of the movie is out standing and I personally loved the lyric of "HAI TUJHE BHI IZAAZAT, KAR LE TU BHI MOHABBAT" it reminds me of the very fact that I am myself and apart from every restrictions, limitations and responsibility I have the right to be myself and to be happy.
the movie though many people found depressing but I find it full of life, hope and spirit.it worth spending some bucks at movie hall.
