In the lifeless world of dishonesty, disloyalty, pretension, show-offs minimum sympathy and dedication for relationships is rarest to be found. METRO is a movie which had rightly shown this cruel picture of today’s world, but of course with a hope to get a change in it. Life in a metro is so complicated and complex that it is really hard to frame it in a single show. But this movie was so well-knit that real shades of life could come out properly. In fact, there are very few movies nowadays which actually touch the heart, which really instigate our thought process. METRO to me was like that. All the characters were really genuine as if the director has shot the movie keeping a hidden camera in their home, the characters are so true for today’s world.

Be it Shilpa Shetty or Konkana Sensharma or Kangana Ranaut, every character is more or less present within us. We fight in job places like Kangana, some dares to do what she did some do not, again we want somebody beside us to give support like Konkana, we fight with our own existence to keep a family smoothly going like Shilpa. We actually loses out ourselves between different responsibilities of our life. We do not enjoy life, we just live a life. I liked the character of Sharman Joshi – this proves that we are still human being, the ruthless life of today’s world could not steal our humanity, could not murder our ethics. There is always a ray of hope even in a darkest night. And love is always blind.

Physical relation actually gives pleasure for few moments, but we all want mental love, security, compassion. METRO also showed that life does not end with age. There is a life after death. Like Nafisa Ali would remain in the heart of Dharmendra though she could spent a little time with him.The movie actually points out so many things that we never feel to look at. At young age, we run after money, position, but after getting all the materialistic satisfactions we still feel alone, because we run after money and in this whole process we leave behind our family, our near and dear. We reach the top and we become the best in our eyes, we praise ourselves to achieve it. We worship ourselves.

But we forget that ‘best’ can not be two at a time, and thus we remain alone. As soon as we realize that we try to come back to our root, sometimes we can, sometimes we cant. This really makes me confused that should we go for the rat race or we should go for relationships, associations and be happy with less? We are actually never satisfied and making balance between the two is becoming impossible day by day. Struggle for existence is making our life a machine. We are living like dead, we don’t enjoy our life but we pretend every time that we are happy. This happiness is to show others and we are all alone inside. Which I could not agree with is Shilpa Shetty’s acceptance of her treacherous husband.

She had done it because of her child, because of the family, for the relation she had brought up with all her sacrifices. But would her acceptance make the whole situation favourable to her? Can she validate herself that her husband wont be doing the same if second Kangana comes in? Why she has to sacrifice? I really feel that the lyrics of its one song suits her , ‘hain tujhe bhi ijazat, karle tu bhi mohabbat’. But she, all her ethics in between, has to sacrifice not only her love but has to accept her deceitful husband who did not even think of his child while leaving home for Kangana. Meeting Shainey Ahuja was a sin for Shilpa to him while sleeping with Kangana was just a mistake for him!!

It proves that we are still in a male dominant world, where Sita has go for ‘Agni Pariksha’ all the time. The character of Kankana was really a very relevant and real. Being frustrated with her loneliness and searching for the right person she actually ornamented her character to be absolute contemporary. Her part of the film actually points out that nobody should be judgmental about anybody just seeing him/ her once. We need to give time to a relation to make it successful. Yet, this is not always true that after dedicating yourself you would get 100% return, but there is still a little possibility to get that. All the actors played their roles so fabulously that all characters of this film became real.

The dual between ethics and physical need was so convincing in Shilpa’s acting. Irfan was superb acting in a such a versatile role. His role had two shades at a time : he was humorous but a man with depth, with all possible human instincts but so pure and honest on everything he does. Irfan could project all his shades very sincerely and beautifully.I really liked all the songs of the movie. Which I really feel good about the songs were its lyrics and its choreography. There is not a single song which was typical hindi masala movie type. There was no extra songs even…every song was needed and so relevant with the situation. The lyrics was really heart touching.

This movie is not for rural audience but it is very significant and modern-day urban audience. It is a movie that makes you re-think what you do. After all there is a chance to re-take in reel like but there is no chance of alternations in real life. It’s we who can make a life and it’s we who can turn a life into death. A simple message can be drawn from the movie that we have all rights to live our life in our own way until and unless this is hampering others life. There should not be any enjoyment at the cost of others life. We are here to enjoy what God has stored for us, not to play carelessly what we have. Then one day may come when we will be left with nothing.
