Meru Cabs has recently started their service at Pune. After a good experience at Delhi & Bangalore, we were excited to have Meru in our home city Pune. But they have disappointed us terribly, so much that we would not trying booking a Meru in may be other cities as well.
The 1st time we tried booking a Meru cab, we were utterly surprised to know that they were completely sold out between 4 pm - 5 pm on that particular day! Don't you feel a little odd even reading this sentence? We were shocked to see that their website was allowing booking/ showing availability for 3:55 pm as well as for 5:05 pm, but no cabs were available between 4 pm - 5 pm. We called them up to ask how/ why, but they weren't able to give a satisfactory response:-(
Not losing hope with Meru, we tried again yesterday & successfully booked a Meru cab for pick up at 10 am from Wanawadi & drop at Pune airport. The booking even accepted the coupon'Meru150' for a Rs. 150/- off on the bill! We were happy to know that finally we'll experience a Pune Meru. But Meru shattered our modest expectations.
We were supposed to get the taxi/driver details 20 min prior to pick-up. When we didn't receive any sms/mail by 9.40 am, we called up Meru cabs only to know that the driver is stuck in traffic & the cab would reach us by 10.10 am. Now, this was an airport drop, so you can imagine how much stress this gave us! We still requested them for the driver details, which they were unable to give us. When we further pressurised, they made us hold the call for'10 minutes' & then told us that the regular Meru was unavailable, so they would be sending a Genie by 10:10 am, and a sms regarding the same very soon.
We had not received any sms even by 10 am! You can imagine our plight & tension when one has to catch a flight & the cab fellows behave irresponsibly. We called them yet again & they put us on conference call with the taxi driver, who was just leaving Pune airport to pick us from Wanawadi 25-30 minutes away! This blew our fuse & we asked them to please spare us. We immediately caught an auto & left home very disturbed.
From our 2 experiences with Meru, I suggest you do not trust them, especially at Pune. We could have missed our flight because of their unprofessional attitude. They do not deserve another chance.
Pathetic service Meru Pune!
