Parineeti Chopra has returned to the silverscreen after more than two years and I just can't understand why did she choose a project like Meri Pyaari Bindu!

This is not the only question that revolves in your mind while watching the film as neither the screenplay is impressive nor the story.

Abhimanyu Roy ( Ayushmann Khuranna) and Bindu ( Parineeti Chopra) are childhood friends. While Bindu is a high spirited girl, Abhimanyu is her saviour. Bindu wants to be a singer and Abhi, a writer. Bindu moves to Austrailia and stays connected with Abhimanyu and many years later they meet at Goa.

Abhi starts falling for Bindu and they plan to get married. So, do they get married? what happens to Bindu's music carrer? . These are probably a few questions left to answer in the later part of the movie.

Parineeti has been fairly impressive as Bindu.

She is terrific in the emotional scenes and keeps you hooked with her performance.

Auyshmann is strictly good but he needs to choose his films wisely. He's repetitively played similar roles and meri pyaari Bindu is no different.

The music of the film is average with Maana Ke Hum Yaar Nahi being a standout song from the album along with Afeemi.

Debutant director Akshay Roy has put up quite an average show with MPB.

I personally feel there are a lot of directors bringing in the 80's and 90's feel to their story . While they pay more attention on recreating that specific era, the story looses its grip.

A scene where Bindu looses her mother is the best in the film as its always a delight to watch Parineeti in emotional scenes.

Verdict:

I personally wanted this film to work especially for Parineeti Chopra but with the slow screenplay and average story MPB is easily avoidable.

2.5/5 stars!
