There's so much noise about MJS having the same story as aitraaz. There's talk that the two films are inspired by the same Hollywood thriller – DISCLOSURE, which itself was inspired by FATAL ATTRACTION.
Yes, MJS and AITRAAZ have similar storylines. But both film do differ on one solid ground – while MJS lacks the grip to keep the viewer hooked for two hours , AITRAAZ did succeed in keeping the viewer on edge at most times.
Akshay Kumar is a pop singer madly in love with Amisha Patel. He is completely besotted with her. But fate has other plans, and an accident sees Amisha bedridden. Meanwhile, Akshay has already signed a contract with an international music company, and must move to US. Amisha persuades Akshay to put career before love, and he reluctantly leaves for US!There, he meets Karisma, chief of the music company he has signed up with. Akshay sings his way to superstardom. And he still loves and draws inspiration from Amisha.
Karishma, meanwhile, has fallen in love with Akshay. In fact, she and Akshay were college buddies, and she had a crush on him since then. Akshay and Karishma get physically intimate.
But Akshay is repentant. He carries the guilt of having betrayed Amisha. Will he go back to her, or begin a new chapter in his life? Only one of them can win! And who would that be?
Director Sunil Darshan achieves little in the way of uplifting any of the material into the realm of watchability. His treatment is as tired as the material. Musically too, the film has nothing to offer. There are ample dream sequence songs to spice up the narrative and there is a delectable blend of romance , comedy and skin showto invoke a roaring applause from the frontbenchers!
Performances in the movie could have been a major strong point but they also miss the mark because of the one-dimensional characters and lack of enthusiasm by the cast. Akshay is back with yet another disaster after FAMILY and this is surely not going to help him much.Karishma totally and blatantly copies Priyanka Chopra [AITRAAZ] here. Whether it’s the ''talk with fists'' attitude, the angry eye look or the shouting!Though she does that with dignity!
Amisha seems uninterested and almost bored in her role. She is given barely any scope to perform and she sleepwalks through her role .Wonder what made her to sign the film. Now, Amisha, this is a bad point in your career but there is no need to take such drastic action. At least, your career is not as bad as Karishma Kapoor's.
on the whole ,MJS disappoints.
