I love reading books, especially novels. And this one is one of my all time favorites (Memories Of Midnight – Sidney Sheldon)
It is a story about a woman in a remote convent in Ioannina , in Greece where she emerges from the trauma of a memory loss. There is another character in the story called Constantine Demris, who is a very power crazy man, and who goes to every extent to gain power and retain his ego. Catherine sees Demris as her benefactor, the man who restores her faith in the future.
But soon she comes to know that her life is bound up with other victims of Demris’ mighty ego. But she never lets that happen, she fights back.
The author also narrates Constantine Demris' story. In the begining Constantine is potrayed as a poor boy who goes to the gulf to work as a helper boy, where he later has an affair with one of the foreman's wife. The foreman's wife gives Constantine a plan of the oil wells that her husband had found. So with the help of that plan Constantine becomes a very rich and respected man.
Sidney Sheldon did a superb job when writing this masterpiece. It was the compelling portrayal of a woman (Catherine) who is thrown into the hands of one of the most powerful men in the world (Constantine Demris).

Sheldon created an intense story that makes the reader feel every emotion that the characters are going through. He makes everything so alive!
