This is my review about MMH(Meet My Holiders India Pvt. Ltd)
I am sure since I have 7/10 or 3/5 they are not quite happy and withhold my LTA bill(they gave one bill with my name misspelled, when I requested them to update it, they did not revert as I gave not so good review about my recently concluded trip to Manali. Here is detail review
Day 1(Day 0 of tour itinerary 29th Apr):
We started from Hyderabad to Delhi, as this trip primary aim was to spend time with family, internationally we choose to travel by train so that we can spend, chill together.Boarded Dorota Express from Hyderabad to H. Nizamuddin.Scheduled departed at 13:10 on 29th Apr.Started 22hrs journey to Delhi.Though the food was not that high quality it was worth time spending with family, away from work and all electronic gadgets.
Day 2(Day 1 of tour ternary 30th Apr): we arrived outskirts of the station(H. Nizamuddin on time) but because of the filled platform, we were stopped outsides. We arrived finally by 11:00 am. A few hours back I got cab details, I called up the driver, he said he would be there, arrived 20min late to the station. This was just beginning of our ordeal. We thought since its 12hr drive, we will reach the destination and freshen up. We did in the train itself, without stopping by in relative’s house in Delhi. If you see one of the quotations, we were told that it was a 12hrs driver from Delhi to Manali(580 KM). We started off, stopped for lunch and some tea on the way. We never demanded any extra stops. I should appreciate my kids as well, they also did not ask for any extra stops. We were not tired, but the driver was obviously, though he claimed he has been driving for almost 20yrs.
He could not do a simple trip of 580 k on time, and he also became greedy, tried to avoid the toll, and other state tax took some detour, all this resulted in getting very late. By the time we reached Manali, it was 3 in the morning. Here was another problem. The Hotel Manager(Chaitanya Resorts) did call while we were on the way. But he did not pick up the phone. Since the hotel was not listed in Google map, it took us another 45min spending in the car and though we were a couple of 100 meters away could not find out the exact location of the hotel, as it was up to the hilly area. So from 29th 1 pm till 4 am on 1st May we were on the drive.
Day 3(1st May: Day 2 of tour itinerary 2nd May): So by the time we settled in the hotel it was 4:30 am. What do you expect, does anyone who has done around 36+ hrs of the journey to start the tour itinerary of Day 2 on time? We got delayed we started around 11 am. You can refer to itinerary of the tour(day 2) we pretty much-covered everything no complain. Though the delay was there, we were tired, but this was joy trip so we did enjoy.
No complaints. When conversing with Driver I told am fascinated by Rotan Pass, he told me the pass just got opened. He told us we had to hire another cab as his cab did not get permission, and go if we would like. Here I would like to pint that if you carefully see the itinerary, actually either Rohtang Pass or Solang Valley was part of the default package. The driver told that since we are very cool, and not demand, he knows someone and he can arrange a cab for 4 k(approximately). I said yes. The mistake I did I should have called MMH and asked them to accommodate this instead of Solang because this was alternative, as per itinerary.
I did not. Day 4:(2nd May Day 3 of tour itinerary): we did start early in morning skipping the breakfast because we were advised, if we got delayed, we will be late in the queue, and traffic would build up. This suggestion was accurate, there was a lot of traffic. But thing was, there was not much ice. Rohtang pass was not completely open, I guess just like us most people got cheated(not by MMH by this local tour operator in Manali). We were made to take rented clothes, along with them we were asked to buy sox, hand glows, googles, but our cab driver came without any of those. When I asked him he told in his exact words “if you get down a cab, you will not survive 5min without clothes that we rented” but I will show you my pics, I did not wear any of those. I used him to sit on ice that is all. It was not that cold. We were cheated and forced to take rented clothes, for 5hrs, I ended up paying 2k. Obviously, the cab driver and cloth rented company have behind door dealing. Later I realized, my regular cab guy, and this cab guy(one who came to Rohtang) has also dealt. Because when he dropped to the hotel, he charged 6k, instead of 4 k.
My cab guy who made all the arrangements was missing. After this guy left, after repeated phone calls he came. I am sure they must have split my money. But the point I am trying to make here was, this 8k(2 k for clothes and 6k for a cab) was suppose to be part of the original itinerary. After Rohtang, we came back to the hotel around 3 pm. When we asked for lunch we were told it will cost extra(I payed 765 extra while I checked out). If you see our day 3 tour itinerary, we were supposed to go to Manikaran, we did not go, we were supposed to go to Solang valley(day 2 of the tour it nary), we did not go. We were supposed to go to vista temple we did not go. We skipped a whole lot of things, but MMH was not ready to adjust 37 k, I paid 6 k extra, and even I did not get to grab lunch(as it was not part of it nary).
Day 5(Day 4 of the tour it nary: 3rd May): we started from Manali to Delhi, again it was 16hrs of the journey, though we did some shopping, and visited the local temple, it was around 2 am by the time we reached relatives house in Loksabha Secretariat colony in Delhi. We had to disturb them to wake up because we got delayed.
If you see tour itinerary 2nd last and final quotation, MMH has increased from 33k to 37k because my elder daughter was 13 yrs old. She was just kid( I know age wise she is treated as an adult) but there was no check at hotel whatsoever. Only this MMH guys made us as If there would be stringent security check and they will check adults, and kids we have to pay extra. MMH has charged extra wherever it was applicable, but when they failed to keep up the promise, I spoke to some lady while in Day 3(Day 2 of the tour it’nary) when I was near Hidimba temple, begging her to give concession. They did not listen.
When I gave 7/10 rating or 3/5 on their website. They were screaming from the top of their lungs. When I asked LTA, I was told to pay full amount then they will give. They misspelled my name. When I demanded that they correct, it since I gave a bad rating, they did not bother to give my proper LTA certificate. 1) First bad advice, never go to Manali from Delhi. You, if you are particular about keeping up with it nary, you need to go to as close to Manali on your own.
2)Even if I were driving from Delhi, I would have covered the distance in 10hrs straight with a 2hr break, 12 hrs. I thought they had some nexus with cabbies so that they can intentionally slow us down, and we miss schedule and save money. The driver was not that good enough, though they claimed to be an expert driver, I did not find that, being long-haul driver myself.
3)These drivers are addicted, to cigarettes and guthka. The lady who is coordinating, the MMH employees, they should travel with this cabbies and figure out what problems tourist face first hand. 4)Though it was good that I could spend time with family being a project manager, if I compare plan vs actual, it went very bad. I did not show this emotion to my family as they were really enjoying the trip. My kids never saw ice, the little ice that we could see near Rohtang pass was more than enough for them. But choosing MMH was a mistake and I regret it.
5)If you carefully read reviews, those who give good ratings are basically newly wedded who come there for honeymoon. They generally are in their own world and will not care about this.
