It's a kiss between a muslim actress & a hindu actor, but there is no kiss in the movie. It's the violation of tehzeeb, but she is a muslim who knows her tehzeeb very well. That is the debate being carried out in India, regarding Pakistani actress Meera who was seen in the Mahesh Bhatt's movie Nazar. It looked like a well planned Drama which didn't initiate any marketing for the film. The movie was so much hyped by the cross border queen itself that it didn't require any further marketing.
Nazar will always be significant as it is the joint production of Bollywood and Lollywood. The base of the hype-kissing scene between Ashmit & Meera. Pakistani religious leaders terming the kiss between the two as unislamic. Giving the hype by taking the side of Islam is totally baseless. Dancing with a man, with arms around his neck who is a gair in islamic terms is also unislamic. In that case Lollywood should totally shut shop. Then there are statements from Meera that she too is a Musalmani & can never violate her tehzeeb. Then the reports of threats to her life in Pak, wow she is doing so much for good Indo-pak relations. Is she really doing it? She stated that given a choice between mughle-azam & jism, she will chose bold subjects as Jism.
She has got a perfect promotional strategy. In Kanpur she said ''i get more love here than in Pak'', wow what an intelligent trick. Now came the time for her interviews in Newspaper, mags, t.v. In one of such interview she termed herself as Madhuri Dixit of pak. But the fact is that she can never be a Madhuri in Pak because even in Pak Dixit is Dixit. Now moving on to her acting skills, she is a good actress, She has an average screen prescence with regard to Bollywood, she is good as a starter in bollywood but She has to do a lot in Bollywood to be what she wants to be. She already has a golden career in pak, with one of her memorable movie, Inteha.We cant deny the fact also that she has a good future in bollywood too.Her big claims that she is a peace ambassador between India & pak. But the fact anyone in film & music industry wants to come to India because there is big market & good opportunities here. They get good moolah & fame. We cant initiate any improvement in relation by dancing around trees or doing individual business, political relations has to be improved for a better Indo-Pak relation.
As a conclusion, wow she is too brave as a peace ambassador to bear the anger of her own country. But in reality- she is a good actress on screen as well as off-screen. She is milking & mixing to the fullest even if nazar may not be a memorable film at box office. Hats off to the lady from across the border.Obviously any publicity is good publicity, milk it with a kissa kiss ka or a well tailored PR trick.
