McDonald's is perhaps one of the most popular fast food chains in the world, and is certainly very popular in North America. McDonald's caters to people who are in a hurry and want tasty (meaning salty and sweet) food. The restaurants are designed in such a way that people become uncomfortable after about twenty minutes, in this way, the restaurant can serve more people each day.
The food is basic North American fare, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, fish sandwich (probably the healthiest choice), and french fries. McDonalds also offers pop and milkshakes and deserts.
Marketing is geared to children and ''Happy Meals'' come with a free toy to entice youngsters. Many McDonald's restaurants also include a playground on site.
Millions of people love the food, I am not one of them. It is high in salt, fat and sugar. It is often cold. The buns for the sandwiches are so soft they are nearly gooey. The sauces, while tasty, do not taste all that good and usually drown the rest of the meal.
At the same time, children love this place and it is inexpensive. My advice: Use with caution.
