McDonald's truly are a global business with the'golden arches' to be found from Australia to Zambia, from Amsterdam to Zagreb.Indeed the story goes that a young Japanese boy was visiting the USA for the first time and proclaimed to his dad .' Look they even have my favourite place here as well'
The pros of this family-oriented, fast food, chain, as I see it, is that the restaurants are very clean and the food offerings very, very, predictable. Price wise they are competitive with other comparable fast food chains. However, I find the food boring. The beefburgers are not very tasty and perhaps that is why the Big Mac is smothered with gherkin, lettuce, cucumber and ketchup. The french fries do not appeal to me at all and I wonder what type of fish goes into the fish fillet.I an not a food technologist but I have read reports which suggest the nutritional value of this type of food is very low.
A big plus for the ice cream and the milk shakes which I find are really very good value for money. Most of the outlets I have visited seem to be staffed by young people who appear to me to be rather disinterested in their work. I am told some of them are students waiting to go on to University and are just working for pin money. The portions are adequate and I have not experienced cold burgers, although a few friends say on occasions they have. In the fast food stakes I would not place McDonalds at the bottom or the top-my top two would be Nandos and Burger King.McDonalds are convenient, open long hours and usually well located but that aside I find the food thy offer is only mediocre What about you?
