I have had Mcafee virus scan for quite a while now. I decided to buy it after a friend told me about it.
I have version 5, which was the new version when I bought it. Not sure which is the new one now though. It's for windows 95 and 98.
Mcafee virus scan is software that scans your PC for viruses.
It's very easy to download, just put the CD in your hard drive and follow the on screen instructions. Once it is installed, you are ready to scan for viruses.
Mcafee scans floppy discs, internet downloads, CD roms, e-mail attachments, shared files, networks and online services.
It destroys any virus it finds and repairs files that have been affected automatically. This is good, so that you do not pass any virus to friends through e-mails etc.
You get 24 hour, 7 day a week support at https://mcafee.com I have never had to use this so far though so can not say what they are like. You also download newer versions of the software from here too.
I bought it from PC World for £15.99 as there was a sale on at the time. It said the original price was £24.99, so I got a real bargain. It's definitely worth the money.
The virus scan is very easy to use too. All you do is press the scan button and it will scan your PC for you. It's as simple as that. It will let you know if it finds any and then destroy them.
YOu can keep it running in the background or check it everyday for viruses. I keep it on in the background whilst on the internet. It's best to have it running at all times.
Since I have had Mcafee I have only had a couple of viruses. One was a back door virus, but it got rid of it for me and no damage was done to my PC. I have not had any since though.
I'd recommend anyone to get a virus scan software as it is worth buying one to destroy all the viruses.
