I wear contact lenses. For this reason, I have always used waterproof mascara. It seemed like most brands didn't carry more than one brand of waterproof mascara at any given time. My mother introduced me to Great Lash waterproof mascara by Maybelline, and I have used it ever since. That is, until she bought me the wonder curl mascara.
The Light Bulb
The wonder curl mascara didn't curl my fairly short, straight-as-an-arrow lashes, but it did make them look longer. That's when the light bulb came on. If the wonder curl mascara makes my lashes look longer, maybe a brand that's actually designed to make them longer would work.
It was calling me
I was shopping at Target when I stumbled across the Maybelline make-up section. I was in need of mascara, so I thought I'd try something new. Something to lengthen my lashes. I saw the Maybelline Full 'N Soft mascara hanging there in a silver container, and it was waterproof! What was I looking for? Something to lengthen? It didn't matter. I had already forgotten what I was looking for, and grabbed the Full 'N Soft package with the $3.99 price tag.
The Mascara
Before I used the mascara, I read the package. It says that lashes won't feel hard or brittle. Oh yeah. This is the mascara that Sarah Michelle Gellar uses in that commercial. If she thinks it works, surely it must. Yeah, whatever.
The Brush
There is a picture on the front of the package showing how the brush looks. This picture doesn't do the brush justice. The brush is very large and fat. (At least compared to the Great Lash brush.) When you pull the brush out of the container, it is not loaded with extra gobs of mascara like a lot of other mascaras. You don't have all the extra goop to try to scrape back into the container. It looks like there is barely enough there to coat your lashes. On the contrary. With other mascaras, I have to apply several coats before I am satisfied with my lashes. With this mascara, it only takes 2.
What it does
It gives you fuller, thicker, and softer lashes. How does it do all this? It contains an advanced thickening formula to help build and protect lashes. The formula consists of Panthenol, Ceramide R, and Vitamin E. It also contains a quick dissolve system. Waterproof mascara can be difficult to completely remove. This system is designed to help us remove the mascara with ease so we don't pull our lashes out while trying to take it off.
Colors
If you like wild, eccentric colors, this may not be for you. It only comes in 3 basic colors; very black, brownish black, and dark brown.
Ease of Use
This mascara is easy to apply to upper lashes without clumps or globs. The lash thickening brush glides on, instantly creating thicker, fuller lashes. My lower lashes are fairly short and sparse. The brush is so fat that sometimes I have a hard time applying the mascara to my lower lashes without getting a little on my skin. It can be done with concentration. Most of the time I'm in a hurry, so it never fails that I have to go back and fix the smudges. If you're blessed with super long lashes, you probably won't have this problem.
Overall
This mascara is great. It makes my short, sparse lashes look fuller and thicker. Most waterproof mascaras leave your lashes stiff, looking like a tarantula. I didn't think any waterproof mascara could actually make my lashes look soft until I used Full 'N Soft. It actually does everything it claims, and at 3.99-it can't be beat. So what are you waiting for? Try this mascara now.
