I have 4 policies from Max New york Life and I regret for my decisions to take policies with them !


Incident No 1: In the middle of a Sundaysome strangers were knocking our door and when I opened I could see two guys who were shabbily dressed asking for me.!! I was kind of suspiscious about these guys and asked them why they came to see me! They replied that they have come from the address verification dept from Max NewYork Life!!?? I have policies from different companies , but this came as a surprise since none of the companies go to houses to check as if I am applying for a loan or something.


They didn't show me any ID and they don;t have one.Strange isn't i!?


I got really irritated and called the sales guy who sold me the latest policy and he said that they don't have a system like that.Then, his manager also called me and told me that they wouldn't do that. Then I called up a Senior Manager and confirmed that they do such things!


This is against the Market conduct guidelines laid by IRDA. and above all it is so insulting and irritating.


Incident No 2: I got a call from MNYL 'collection centre' who ORDERED me to pay the premium.I have to mention that the tone was RUDE!( remember those credit card collection agents). (Actually I had cancelled that policy long before). I said that I have cancelled that particular policy and the lady who called me hung the telephone. Then, another guy called me and said that I HAVE TO PAY my DUE immediately.


I was so irritated by the way they asked me to pay the premium, so I replied that I wouldn't pay and would cancel the policy because of unruly and arrogant phone calls.He never bothered to reply and hung the phone.


I request IRDA to take strict action against MNYL as they cause mental torture and irritation to customers by all such means.If required they may question them if the licence has to be continued or terminated for such inappropriate acts.
