Staff Attitude:

Its been sadly a sick year for the family and we have been in and out of the neighborhood Max at Patparganj. We found the quality of doctors to be consistently good and the nursing staff generally polite- and that's probably the most important thing in a healthcare facility, YET there are a few things that really sour the experience and I wish the Max staff would make the easy fixes to become a better facility. I have given rather long reviews written reviews to them after hospital stays

But apart from a standard phone call with questionnaire( where the person on the phone only elicits and reacts to objective type answers and makes it clear that they are just following protocol), never really got a response from them.

They are definitely short staffed on nurses. The poor things run around like be-headed chicken and are sometimes painfully new and nervous( not what you want to see in a person with a needle in their hand ready to poke), getting a room is tough and getting discharged is near impossible. The paperwork moves

s l o w l y.

And while all the above can be attributed to attrition of staff and too many patients what about a simple thing like having someone pick up the darned phone... its toughest when you try calling the hospital to make an appointment for OPD or somesuch. You can call and call and call but your call will not be answered. And when it is, it will be unceremoniously and with sullen silence be transferred to some random department. You hang up and call again and the cycle continues for at least three more iterations before you get to the department that you are trying to reach. By this time your heart beat and blood pressure are up, your hands are shaking and you probably need to get in touch with emergency.

Please Max, please! the least you can do is hire a couple of people for your reception. or is that asking for too much?

Update:  22 March, 2011

Its been several days since I posted the above review and I am still waiting to get connected.

No one ever picks up the phone and if they do, they hang up. Its is not just downright frustrating, its juvenile to pick the phone up the phone and bang it down.

Seriously MAX is your customer service for real???

And does anyone at MAX even care to read online reviews???
