If you are on for an adventure, Max Balaji is perhaps would stand out among its peer comparison. The main(and perhaps the only) focus this commercial institution has is to extort money from already troubled patient. The hospital has no sense of courtesy and no one understands the value of that human touch which a person requires the most at this stage.
Dr. Shipra is among a few doctors who will not even think twice before being rude and blunt to the patient’s kin(s)/relative(s). They, as a policy, will not allow seeing the reports of any of the tests carried out for the patient.
It was quite unfortunate for me to have my wife deliver our first daughter in this commercial institution. Where, once they come to know that you are covered with a mediclaim from your employer, they will take you on the ride. Furthermore, Dr. Shipra informed us that our new born is suffering from jaundice, which is quite common with infants, and started phototherapy with her.
The next day when we sought more clarification on the count of Bilirubin(which is the actual indicator of jaundice) we were told about the strange policy of hospital which does not allow them to share any reports with parents. To hell with it! I had to use my own way to get to the report just to discover that baby was not suffering from jaundice and her biliruben count was absolutely normal in the first test itself. On seeking an explanation we were informed that they have read someone else’s’ report and thought it was for our daughter, based on which they gave her phototherapy.
I had to immediately ask for a discharge, which obviously against the medical advise of so called experts of Max Balaji, but we had to shift out baby to Pushpanjali Crosslay Hospital. This is undoubtly the best hospital on date. I will be writing a separate review for Pushpanjali in case you would like to refer.
I would be escalating this to Mr. Pervez Ahmed, CEO and MD of Max health care. No doubt they can afford 5 star ambience when they are negligent enough for patients and in turn making their fortune. I have ensured an internal communication is being sent to HCL employees(who employ 52000 people) on my experience with Max.
