Purchased a saree from matwali recently (order no. 1222). The customer care is nice to talk and courteous and felt genuine and professional.
Placed the order after checking the availability and confirming product details on telephone and was assured that it will be delivered exactly as shown on the site and within 4 business days. But received it after 17 days after several follow-ups and the blouse fabric was found to be different.
During a follow up call on my order status they had mentioned that they were just packing my saree, and that it had same blouse as shown in the photo on site (upon my insistence to check what they are sending). They had promised velvet blouse as shown on the site, but delivered me dupian silk blouse, which does not go that well with the saree. Even the stones on saree are not well-glued, and fall off easily.
Matwali.com refused to replace the blouse with velvet one, and refused to compensate for it. Basically, I paid the full price for a inferior product. They just agreed to take the order back. Which I didn't do coz of lack of trust in getting my money back and to avoid further harassment.
It is very difficult to trust this site. Please be careful and don't go for their assurances and professional talk. Shame on matwali.com!
In online shopping, the customer does not have any other way but to trust what is shown on the website, and what is assured by the seller. Matwali.com may be able to fool a few customers, but I hope that after reading the reviews of aggrieved customers, new customers will think twice before ordering with them.
