Here arrives another film-maker who knows not a thing about film-making, but is only hungry for awards at international film festivals. The secret is simple. Screw India and highlight ONLY the negative and depressing aspects of it in the name of art and keep collecting awards at all the festivals possible. Matrubhoomi is one of the worst films ever made in the history of world cinema. Watching it is like looking at a pig rolling in dirt.
The theme of the movie is simple. In a world where no female is alive due to female infanticide, a poor girl (Tulip joshi) is the saviour for a sex-starved family of a father and his four sons. The girl is bought from her father and is married to all the four sons. Then begins a horrid series of sexual encounters between the sons and tulip. They take turns during the week. To fill in for a blank day even the father-in-law jumps onto the sex wagon.
The movie proceeds with a series of family feuds and rapes one after the other making movie viewing utterly disgusting and shameless in the form of art. The very problem of female infanticide takes a back seat and the perverted vision of the director dominates the canvas.
If you hate your life and are interesting in committing suicide go and have a completely dirty time by watching this crap. The only saving grace is the background score by salim-suleiman who only god knows why decided to do it.
