I happened to obtain a data card on rent from Matrix for my Europe trip in April 13. Though the rentals were quite high, I opted for it just to save myself from any hassles during my trip.The Matrix sales guys came all the way up to my office, explained things in detail to me, dropped his business card to get in touch with him in case of trouble, collected my credit card details & tricked me finally into signing up for this plan.
The day I landed in EU, I realized that the card did not allow me to connect to my work(my primary objective of obtaining this during vacation) & the connection was extremely extremely slow. I dropped 2-3 mails to this sales rep who I was in touch with, but my mails were left unanswered. Finally, I ended up not using this card & bought Wifi from my hotels in EU, which were 10 times cheaper than this Matrix gimmick.
I came back to India, contacted this sales rep on phone & explained this problem to him. He conveniently said that he had "forwarded" my mail to his customer care team & "assumed" that they had resolved the issue for me. Nonetheless, he "assured" that he will help me get my money back for this data card. After this call, this person vanished from the scene completely & was smart enough to ignore my mails & calls to him. I tried contacting customer care but for all the attitude they carry, they would want their customers to call them back if they are busy! I still called them back for the unfortunate reason that my money was stuck with them. I was asked to raise a ticket & the same is unattended for over 15 days now, in spite of several reminders.
PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE refrain from using the services of this company, which is extremely unprofessional & open about exhibiting it. You are better off buying SIM or Wifi abroad, whereever you travel. Companies like Matrix only survive by exploiting their customers like this & taking full advantage of their situation. There are legal ways of getting this money back from them but they are just confident that customers dont go to this extent & waste their time.
I am ashamed to even admit that I pulled myself for an association with a below par company like this without doing enough research on their service levels.
I am giving them a rating of 1 here above only because I cannot give a negative rating.
