The new zen estillo is good to look. Its fresh design and interiors, smoot steering and transmission, comfortable seats are really a big change from the old zen. The seats are placed higher so getting in and out of the car is lot more easier. I feel that the rear wind shield is smaller and if two adults sit in the rear seats they block nearly 40% (approx) of the view. I feel there is a similar problem with swift also. In spite of bright interiors the cabin space seems small. It is best suited for 4 adults (medium or large build) and one child.
The pickup of the car is very poor. Though it uses the same engine as Wagan R, the pickup is very slow. Old zen has a very peppy engine. The new zen is just the opposite. Maruti sales personal claim that its done for mileage. So overtaking that truck on the high way must be a planned effort. I could not take a ride on the highways but it was a breeze to drive through the peak Chennai traffic. I had only wished the engine could be more responsive than it is.
And may be a bit roomier. Conclusion Fresh design and interiors, but not so great engine. Good for city but not sure about highway. Its targeted at santro, so hold on for 6-9 months there might be a renewed zen and better pricing.
