HI All.
Havent written here for a while, apologies for being out of touch but much has been happening in my life. Got married a few months ago, changed jobs, moved from one house to another..and since then just been busy settling in!! HOpe this will be the start of a regular routine.
JUst bought myself a wagon R lxi about a month asgo. The review is on the car but im not gonna go into technicals. THose can be found anywhere. Im gonna try and give a ''drivers'' opinin on the car.
INTERIORS:-
A lot of space. IM about 5'10 and my wife about 5'6 which is not too tall but in the maruti I had to push the seat back a long way causing great inconvenience to passengers behind me. But here, not only do I not need to do that there is more than ample space for someone like me to sit right behind.
I like the looks of the dash, They do not coinvey a cheap-plastic look or feel and the way the engineers have found stroage places is really cool. Back in the marutieverything went into the glove box or on the seat/floor. But in the wagon r everythign which I mioght need is but a hands distance away.
I was very lucky with the upholstrey. Got a nice sober dark grey colour without any bizzare patterns. The mats etc are standard-rubber. The carpet is nicely tucked in fiving it a clean look. The celing also has sufficent damping in it and the upholstrey there is soft grey. Overall would rate it 8 ona 10.
ENGINE:-
It runs like a dream...till you put the ac on that is. People have to keep in mind that this car is not built for power. Its main goal would be top of the line comfort at a great price. The car runs very well. I took it to the highway after its first servicing and it went up to 140 and about 120 with the Ac on. Im sure it would have pegged a few more with the ac oin but I ran out of road.
The minte the ac is put on there is a significant loss of power. You feel it in the pickup. At crusing speeds you wont. You can beat this by really reving the engine but thats not a good idea. Enjoy the car at the pace you think its best.
Cornering is great though it feels a little unstable at high speeds coz of the high centre of gravity.
Very quiet car with the windows up. The AC is very loud at max fan setting but keep it at 2 and there wont be any problems in your conversation!
The care has returned me the following mileages over the last month.
20.1 (HIghway pre first service)
15.8 (City Pre first servicve)
16.5 (City post service)
18.5 ( Highway post service with ac and going up to 130-140 Kmph)
Mileage is excellent. Its already given me accroding to my estimations 17 this time around. A couple fo days to go before I fill the tank.
Accessories Put:-
Full wheel covers. not available in the lxi model. really makes a siginificant difference to the way the car looks. Also consider putting in side beams for definition.
Fog lamps. My wife wanted these more thasn me but for general peace in the house I went and got them!!
JVC double din music player with Blaupunkt speakers and boston fronts. Never heard a system sound better...ofcourse im still not used to heing in such a quiet cabin.
Have faced no problems with the car till date. Its up for its secondservicing now.
