I bought a new WagonR Vxi (Petrol) couple of weeks back. Though when I booked it the dealer told me I will have to wait max 20 days for the deilievery, but even after more than a month the car was no where in sight. Eventually I came to know from that dealer that maruti has stopped production till 25th Nov. Maybe caz the price are set to increase around 10k from december. So I ended up buying it from another dealer who had the car in stock.
Its a good car, but I am not sure if its worth the price tag it carries. In Gurgaon (Haryana) the ex-showroom price is 3.77 Lakh, an extra registration cost of 6000 Rs. Thank God insurance is free on this car. Otherwise it would have been 13k more expensive. I wasnt too sure abt the fourth year extended warranty (worth 2500 ), so I didnt take it yet.
Though I have to admit it is much much better looking than the previous model, which looked more like a mini van. There are few colours available in it though I wonder who wud buy Forest Flush and bahamas beach. So I bought Passion red. The car looks nice and is easy to drive and pretty comfortable. But I fail to understand Maruti's idea of providing only the front 2 power windows in the TOP MOST model. May be the forgot to put it there in the first place :P
Anyways, the fuel effecieny of the car is claimed to be 15-16 Kpl.. and I managed to get it pretty much around 14-15 and I have heard that after the servicing the efficiency increases. The shift from 4th to 5th gear is a little glitchy...
The car has lot of new features.. It has night view rear mirror which works well.. u have electronic side mirrors which are cool too, much bigger than the ones that comes with the other models. There are 2 fog lamps at the front and one fog lamp at the rear. There is an extra light in the boot which is pretty cool... The Front lights are huge and they work really well... I cant say abt the AC as I havent used it so far.. The interior is basically the same as the old model but there is much better finishing.
Overall if ur looking to buy a car in this segment, WagonR is the one to go for.
