I purchased WagonR Vxi in April 2005and I have driven it for more that 24000 kms. As per my experience Irated it as following:
Design: The vehicle looks like miniTata 407. It looks better from the backside than the front.Definitely looks are not boring.
Interiors: Interiors are not made invery good quality of plastic but they are acceptable considering theprice we pay. Regular cleaning of the interiors helps a lot inkeeping charm. There are storage places everywhere i.e. Below glovebox, below steering column. These are handy to keep mobiles orsunglasses. Two bottle holders, a cup holder, huge door pockets onall four doors are also very useful.
Rear legroom is less and troubles tallpersons but as the seats are upright one doesn't feel shortage.Headroom is huge. My vehicle has rear folding and reclinig seats withwhich I can create huge space to carry anything.(once a washingmachine)
Engine: Engine is smooth and sufficientpower to carry four adults and there luggage with ease. AC needs tobe turned off while climbing or getting speed from standstill. I havenot spent any amount for engine since purchase except routineservicing. Recentaly I traveled 219 kms in 11.8 liters of petrol with60-70 kmph speed. In city it returns about 12-13 kmpl.
Suspension: Rear occupants have to faceharsh ride on rough roads. At front life is more easy. I have fittedaura alloys with MRF ZVTS 155/70R13 tubeless and has done wonder forme. Ride is considerably improved after that. Rattling is alsoconsiderably decreased. However till today suspension setup needed nomaintenance so far. It does not create much noise while absorbingbumps.
Comfort: Getting in or out is very easyand a boon for old aged/ handicapped persons. I have driven it for350 kms in a day comfortably. Driving position is very good. Drivergets good view of the road. However due to thick pillar, one has tosee through quarter glass at corners. Front power windows are therebut not at the rear. Mirrors are not internally adjustable is anotherminus point.(Maruti has rectified it in the newer model) Reardefogger is available but no rear wash and wipe. Remote centrallocking is a plus.
Overall: Vehicle is very reliable.Needs very low maintenance. Battery of my vehicle is working fine atthe end of fourth year. Maruti has service stations almost ateverywhere. Servicing maintenance cost is also low. Rattles appearfrom almost all corners and need special attention at regularintervals. Otherwise it is very good vehicle for small families andwithin city circles and occasional tours.
