DIY maintenance is entirely worth it! Any aspect of car maintenance or repair you are able and willing to do will not only keep the money in the bank, but you'll get an innate sense of pride in your abilities. Yes, it can be frustrating at times, particularly when the job does not work out quite as easily as the pictures or videos would suggest.
Have you thought about buying some parts online and having them shipped to you? That would be a good work-around for the more basic maintenance needs.
