This is my Third review on my Wagon R Duo - The first one was written when my car completed 9000 Km. That time I called it a stupendous car! I bought the car in September 2006 - when Maruti first introduced the Duo cars. Nobody was sure of the product at that time.
Today - the car is over 6 years old - still looks like new. It has covered about 62000 Kms till date. The engine is whisper smooth and the suspension noiseless. I am 6 feet tall and getting in and out is no problem. I love travelling with my family and kids - and the car is the perfect excuse for weekend getaways. On one cool winter morning in December 2012, we just travelled to Burdwan( about 70 Kms from Kolkata) on the beautiful 4 lane expressway with 5 adults( mostly heavyweights) and 3 children( 9 Yrs, 6 Yrs & 4 Yrs) . I could not makeout that I was carrying such a heavy load. The car responded wonderfully, and we touched 120Kmph in stretches - never travelling below 80 Kmph. The powerful engine, power steering and brakes made the driving so safe.
Even on hot days, It is a wonderful experience driving through the countryside with the A/C and music system always on, you relax and can never feel the heat. The drive is very comfortable and I am never tired driving those distances.On long drives, I drive in the petrol mode. In the city, I usually drive in the LPG mode for maximum economy. The LPG-Petrol change-over is automatic if the proper mode is selected. One can easily change the mode while driving. Maruti has taken good care of the car during servicing. Manoverability in city traffic is very good and the aircon is superb. Fuel consumption in city in LPG mode is about 11Kmpl and in Petrol mode on long runs with full load is over 15 Kmpl.
This is excellent value for money - a small car with a big feel.
