I here share the information and experience I gathered during the research in Wagon R Duo purchase. I hope this review should stand as a total reflection of my thoughts about the car.

I visited 3 Maruti showrooms to know about this car, first was in RNS motors bangalore. I had to see a blue Wagon R demo car over there. I did not get to see a Wagon R Duo however. To start with I say about the

Looks of the car:The car is not very rich in style (my own idea, please apologize if I am hurting you) though I said it is not very rich, it is rich in style :). I feel the new Wagon R has improved a lot in terms of style compared to its older versions. Car rear look has really improved a lot and it gives a comfort to the owner that he really has bought a cool looking car when he looks the car from the back. The sporty lamps and widened, curved rear glass makes the car look cool.

The main part which makes the car to look like a tempo is the rear passenger window. It is exactly a rectangle, there are very few cars that has a exact rectangled window, the window is also wide and tall enough to allow awesome light into the car, it may be an advantage however this contributes towards the odd look to the car. Front view of the car is really improved and the curve done on the bonnet looks great, yes I would say the headlights could be applauded for their improved style. I believe the car looks good with roof rails and rear spoilers. A good wheel cap adds to the look and please darken the window glasses to the maximum to get a feel that you are sitting inside a car (instead in a bus).

Mileage:I believe most of the people who have choosed Wagon R Duo would have found the mileage meter having the most votes in their selection criteria. Yes I too vote for it, that too Wagon R Duo, the GAS gives an effective cost savings. 11-12 kmpl on GAS however 28 rupees per litre give just 2.30 per km while compared to petrol it is 3.50 and you save 1.20 every kilometer! (I love this point :) ) The petrol mileage is also a decent one gives around 14-15 kmpl. What else to say with mileage? Great!

Performance: A place in your checklist where lacks much votes, however does not drains to the ground or does not wins your distrust. 1061 cc engine, good and you would realize the goodness while going on a long drive or climbing on a hill. The Torque is 84@3500 rpm in petrol and 77@4500 rpm (looks greek and latin !!! J ) This means that (I think) the engine allows you to switch to 5th gear at 60 kmph itself – result when you are in high way you will not feel much difference on pick up or enjoy a gear that you would have not used during your city drive. Other than that… Yes, while you are in GAS the pick up is less ( L no pickup) however petrol does a good job with 1061 cc engine. It is a 5 speed manual and 1 reverse. I heard from people using the car that the car ______(fill in the blank with a word that gives you the feel of vibrate /shiver / shake J ) in high way when you are stepping on the accelerator to move the car at 100 – 110 kmph. I also understand that the suspensions are not perfect enough to give you cushion feel when the car runs over even a small stone or a hump. I would also say you that any tall boy model car will have a bit shivering when you are overtaking or a truck over takes you around the speed 100 kmph. The design of the car is in such a way that is blocks the air (on highways) and helps in spending you more for petrol/GAS J. Maruti should concentrate more in shape of the car that will help in managing the high pressure air on highways and also adding point to the stylishness to the car. Remarkable one is that when you switch from petrol to GAS or vice versa, the car doesn’t give any jurk or off.!

Space:Starting this para with the word awesome. It has awesome space inside the car, I have told my friends many times that there is enough space for a guy to sit in the dikki with a small chair (just kidding), however Duo has eaten up some space for its 22.5 litre GAS tank still it give us decent space to load our luggage required for a long trip. Hello! 6.9” guys, you will not have any problem in this car (Hopefully) and you can take your old aged sweet people sweetly to their destination as they will not feel tired or uncomfortable. They can merily wave their legs at the rear passenger seat. It gives a nice leg room for driver and also the co-passenger seat. The doors have arm rest and rear seats have head rest (small but really thank ful features). When the car gives a odd look with the cut shaped rears, this adds an advantage when you accidently take your car on a hump and it does not hurt your passenger’s top head while they are bouncing. Young mom’s would love the passenger seat so that they can sit comfortably still having their cute baby in her lap.

Others: I am just running the car now in my imagination to write the experience, so I may have missed some points, sorry for that…! The features….!!!... Rear door child lock, Headlight leveling switch, easy GAS/petrol switch, mmm, there are many.

Drive the car, you will like it, if you compromise a bit with the style, you will own a great great car that will never pinch your pocket for fuel. J
