Recently bought Swift VXi.
Special thanks to Mouth shut as it was a very difficult decision.
Had shortlisted following Cars:
Ford Ikon
Swift VXi
Zen Estillo
Read almost all the reviews for these Cars on mouthshut and finally decided to go with Swift. So far quite happy with the decision.
Actually Ikon and Zen are also good Cars. Did not go for Ikon for the sole reason that there is not much resale value. And this advantage only Maruti cars have(and Santro, H City to an extent). As for Zen estilo, I liked the AC and the comfort drive in Estilo. But Swift is more powerful and stable car.
Can't comment on the mileage as of now but will update you in a week or so.
If you want to go for Swift LXi, I would suggest you spend 25K-30K more and go for VXI version instead as there are quite a lot features in VXi version.

Update on 04th March

Just want to add about the mileage.
Friday night went to Ooty. Got a very decent overall mileage of 20 Km/lit. When I say 20 I'm also including those Ghat section particularly those 36 hair pin curves where all the time you have to be in 1st gear only. I drove only during the night time and that is why traffic was comparatively less. And as I drove only in the night, AC was not on. So the mileage that I'm writing here is without AC.
If you just talk about the mileage on Bangalore-Mysore highway, I have got mileage of 24.63 km/lit which I believe is amazing. For those who don't know, Bangalore-Mysore highway is one of the best highways in India.
But I'm still not sure about the mileage in the city as onyl on this trip as I filled the tank completely. May be between 10-11. I'm not sure.
And lastly, I haven't done even the first servicing yet as I'm yet to reach 1000 Kms mark. I'm hoping that it will only improve.

Update on 28th March
Now about the City mileage.
Last time I wrote about Ooty trip. That time I touched 885 Kms mark after reaching Bangalore. I filled the tank completely then.
When I touched 990 Kms, I gave the car for first servicing. Today I reached 1281 Kms mark and then again filled the tank completely.
1281-885= 396 Kms
After filling 28 litres of petrol, tank got full.
Which means 396 / 28= 14.14 Km/lit.
AC was on for almost 40%-50% of the total drive.
So far mileage is quite good and am quite happy.
