Heaven! or Hell = Maruti Swift

I had booked Swift Zxi as a gift to my father on May 29, 2005 with 100 K as booking amount with delivery affirmation from dealer on June 6th. The dealer called me on May 7th and said that please deposit the full amount and you will get the car before 10th. Later the date changed to June 15th, then June 25th, then June 30th, then July 5th and finally July 15th. Now the dealer has said that I will tell you about delivery on July 13th. I have booked my car with PREM MOTORS, Gwalior with total amount of Rs. 4.82 + and still waiting. Prem Motors and Maruti takes customer as there slaves for granted. I also talked to Maruti help line and then to senior manager from regional office, but I got an all negative answer.

It’s better to look out for alternative car or put my money in fixed deposit!

If I will get my delivery on July 15th swift will be my 5th car from Maruti. Well this is the respect Maruti/Dealer gives to its loyal customers.

To HELL with Maruti.

Well to get on technical details, I am quite impressed with space, engine power, and over all aesthetic but all of the above are no good if I can not get car delivered.

Sorry folks about my frustration regarding interaction of maruti and dealer with customer. May be it is the number game on which maruti is going ahead. But I have a BIG question in my mind regarding the average of the car. Is it really 8-10 km/lt with AC????

Can SWIFT justify its value with this performance.

With all the PROS and CONS I have been told by people on this website and else where, I have decided to wait till July 15th 2005. If car is delivered, its OK (Cheers for MUL) if not, no maruti car in my lifetime.

Jul 16th 2005-I got a call from regional manager of MUL that I will get my car on Sunday July 17th. Ohh my God, is it true! was my first reaction. On Sunday morning I got a call from dealer ''Prem Motors, Gwalior'' that will I take the delivery now? The first reaction was on Sundays! Are you open? And the reply was yes but only for you sir.

Oh my God it was grand to see the Silky Silver Swift Zxi in showroom; I was speechless when I first saw the real beauty with boldness. Well I decided to take delivery on Monday July 18th. When I first started the engine (Soundless) pressed the accelerator (powerful), I knew today may be the best day of my life. Well I have changed all my opinions towards MUL and its dealers. They are not good, they are excellent. Dealer paid me interest on all of my booking amount, gave discount on all the accessories, and more so ever they felt bad and sorry that I had to wait for so long. Can you imagine GM of Prem Motors himself was there to entertain the delivery? Three cheers for MUL and three hundred cheers for Prem Motors, Gwalior.

To hell with all those who misled people that Swift is not refined, looks like a frog, has older technology and what not.

This car has everything that is required and justifies its Value. The seating is excellent, suspension is superb, steering and handling is <the best>. The automatic climate control is justified and the AC is also the best. People complain that SWIFT is a hatchback with no boot space, my personal opinion for all those will be to have another look.

Dear Readers, This Company, This Car, The network is THE BEST and I feel ashamed to think so negative in my earlier opinions.

After driving car for 1800 kms now I feel some thing should be added to my earlier statements.

1. There is problem of water seepage form window glass in car’ interiors. I got to know this when front speaker stopped working. The mechanic told that the contact points are rusted due to water.

   
   




2. The boot door is too delicate; if it is forced on luggage you will be unfortunate to have small dents in door.

   
   




3. The quality of fittings/accessories in car are sub-standard. Cigarette lighter base came out of its place at least five times and now I have come to final remedy, i.e., using fevi-quick to seal it.

   
   




4. The interiors are quite delicate and needs proper care.

   
   




5. Suspension is excellent.

   
   




6. Driving is pleasure.

   
   




7. Average on highway (Gwalior-Delhi-Dehradun) came out to be 11.75 per liter.

   
   




8. The window glass when open makes a thud sort of sound when door is closed, as if there is something loose.
