I am a newbie to the driving world... Purchased my first car a 2nd hand Maruti Swift Vxi. which had done 37k kms.. on the 4th day I experienced a strange issue... during reversing the gear didn't engage and caused slippage... I thought as I am new it could be my fault and ignored.. I went for a small test drive.. 1st, 2nd gear all fine.. 3rd gear the car lost the power...the engine was raving up but no power as though I had pressed the clutch.. I again thought it could be my mistake... finally I got it checked and I was told that clutch assembly or plates needs changing and costs Rs2500/- approx...
Anyone has faced similar issue? I read elsewhere on the net about the clutch issues with Maruti Swift... please throw some light and does the clutch always wears out so soon? I remember my dad used to own a mahindra jeep and I have never seen the clutch go wrong within 50k kms even with rough driving...
Cheers
