Excellent driver's car. Review on Maruti Suzuki Swift

This is my first review, so please excuse and note any errors or oversights.

Space:

Cabin Space in this car is ample and can ideally seat 4 people luxuriously and5 people comfortably .rear passengers might feel a little cramped for space during long journeys but nevertheless it would be a small inconvenience.

Boot space, although on the lesser side is in fact sufficient for small trips(luggage of 4 ppl for a weekend) but, it sounds way too bad than it actually is, in any case the rear seat can be lowered for filling more luggage.

Economy:

Mileage on this car during my first 1000 kms was very low (8-9) within city limits and a/c. which shocked me, after the second service an average of(10-11) intermittent a/c use, long drive with a/c was (14) now i've crossed10, 500 kms and third free service done, mileage yet to check. hoping to get atleast 13kms.

maintenance seems affordable since its been a year and three services have costed me an aggregate of approximately 3000-4000. parts also seem reasonably priced. eg.( my tail light cluster cost me 3, 500, the same tail light clustering my honda city costed around 9, 000)

Comfort:

As mentioned earlier this car can seat 5 people comfortably , the ride is very smooth and sturdy, thus not much disturbance is felt. the front passengers should'nt have anything to complain about.

rear seats are a little hard and could be more reclined , but that's just me. no issues here.

Engine:

I've been told that the swift has a very unique engine and technology in it. and as an ardent driving enthusiast I can easily vouch for this fact , it's very nippy , powerful , responsive and smooth.

however lately there seems to have been a drop in pickup and power , also there is some minor turbulence in lower speeds , i'm hoping this can be fixed by the dealership. otherwise its a great engine with sufficient power.

Suspension:

The swift claims to have a rally based suspension system, which i'm not sure how its supposed to be. But it definitely feels very solid, comfortable , smooth and handles really well. in high speeds it doesn't let go , u can be very confident while cornering and overtaking. I love the suspension on it.

Drive ability and ride quality:

To emphasize on the above three headings, the swift has a right combination of all three in perfect measure, an excellent engine, commendable suspension and meaty steering which is what I assume is very hard to achieve by even the best companies. so kudos to maruti-suzuki. Thus delivering this gem of a car.overall the ride quality is good , drivingpleasure amazing and performance awesome.

Dealership:

I purchased the swift VXI petrol from Kalyani motors Bannerghatta road , Bangalore.

the executive who visited us was very co-operative and did not give us a chanceto complain.

all the paperwork was managed by him without giving us any hassle, delivery wasdelayed by more than 7-8 hours from the promised time ( I consider this an inconvenience because I come from a very religious family and we wanted the caron an auspicious date within an auspicious time , which ws well informed inadvance.)

the dealer did not give us any complimentary add-ons claiming that the company does not give free stuff on popular cars, however the only free mudflaps and rubber floor mats we got after much pestering turned out to be cheap duplicate stuff.(which a year later we found out they were'nt supposed to , so we threatened to go to customer-care and sure enough they had it changed) Other than that , there is absolutely no issue with them. service also is good.

Build quality:

The build quality of the swift leaves much for desire, the paint job is below average which I could say is a scratch magnet, plastics used are mediocre on flimsy, lots of creaky squeaky noises are present.i wish maruti improves the fit and finish of the car. even a small pebble hitting the body makes a visible dent. which i've got on my car by the dozen. Overall , it has been a pleasure with this car , few regrets but more praise.loving every moment with this car.in a nutshell its a great looking beautifully performing car. go for it.
