My Swift Petrol is 6 months old and it has done 5000 kms.so its time to give a feedback about the car to prespective buyers.

The model that I own is Vxi-ABS 1.3L G-Series engine, Perl white color, I have done few additions, one is a music system with good speakers and Black+ Red combination seat cover. It looks great inside after this, with the red back-lit music system. This car comes with every basic goodies that a user needs.

I went on for the 1.3L G-Series as I feel its better that the K-Series Swift. Also as the performance numbers shows 1.3L is faster in acceleration than the K12M. The suspension on K12M is tuned for comfort where as 1.3L handles better. But now(Aug 2010) it would be hard to get a new Swift 1.3L as the K-Series has kicked in, so if you need this car you will have to go for a used car. Or wait till next year and you will have a all new swift with a lot of changes and a little powerful K-Series engine. But at a price.

This car is fun to drive as advertised and claimed by most of the experts, its pretty chuck-able in corners and till now it haven't made be panic in any given condition. It handles very well, Steering response is very precise. Its easy to drive. The steering is very light at low speeds.

Overtaking on highways is a breeze, and the car feels well planted on speeds around 120KMPH, that's the maximum I have done till now. The steering gets harder with speed and handling becomes even better at high speed. However the car feels faster than it is moving!

It doesn't feels like a performer till 2500 RPM when driven mildly but what it delivers is still enough in traffic. 2500 is also the ideal RPM for city driving for better balance of fuel economy and performance. But when we push it after that.man it comes into its character.

You will always have a smile on your face when you park this car in your garage when you reach home. It also creates a good respect in your friends circle!. This is one of the car that people will recommend as it isn't very price for what you get out of this for the money you pay.

When you buy a Maruti Suzuki, just go for Vxi if you don't want to spend more for Zxi. As Vxi comes with so many features and you save a lot of money as all goodies are factory fitted. If you go for Lxi and try to get all those stuff it will cost more!

On the negative side, if the road is really bad(mud road - found mostly in outer city) the car rattles even when new and some times the gear shift lakes feel, it slots in with out any resistance. Surprising:)?

Majority of my friends advised that we don't need ABS on Indian roads,  there is no need for it. However I would suggest that if you have that  extra 20K spend it and go for the ABS version, doesn't matter what car  you buy. Most of the cars sold in India have got ABS version. Please  note that ABS will be helpful even on Indian roads. Even we guys go  faster on highways if not on city roads.

One of the scenario is - I as doing around 100KMPH and a guy popped in suddenly and was wondering what to do, but I was able to bring the car to stand still without any problem in a very insignificant distance- All with the help of the break assist and the ABS. The guy said sorry, I was angry but that made me a little cool!

On the low points for the dealer - Well its the bad experience that I have with Indus motors chennai, they don't leave up to their commitment and also they flicked the antenna from my car on first service and I am yet to get that back.

On an overall note - This is one of the best in its class as an overall package, and the best from performance point of view.

Still to come as I drive more.
