Technically Best but interiors poor. Review on Maruti Suzuki Swift

I got my Maruti Swift Vxi on 15th-Oct-06. I had a very tough time deciding upon which car to buy. As this was my First car I had to be very careful before I put my hard earned money.

Because this was my first car I was firm about going for a Small Car reason being I have seen so many people around me that there first car is always a small car so that they can develop their driving skills to the best.

I had few options in front of me to choose from like Wagon R, Santro & Swift. As my father had Wagon R so ruled out. Secondly Hyundai has a high cost of maintenance so this is also ruled out. Now left with Swift only.

One cannot compare Swift with Santro or Wagon R in term of mileage as the engine is of Sedan car category. Swift has both +'ve & -'ve points if you still compare with Wagon R / Santro.

I did a lot of research before deciding upon Swift. I knew that it will give me mileage not more that 11Kmpl (City with AC).

Finally, I bought Swift. I was really moved with the power and smoothness of the car. Really a Zoom machine. As the climate got lill cooler in Delhi so did not used AC but it is said that it is very chilling.

I bought the Silver color reason being I intend to sell it off in 2-3 yrs. Other colors are not easily acceptable when you intend to sell.

I bought this Car from Rohan Motors, Noida. On Road the Cost is 4,60,000. Got a discount of 20,000. But if you bargain more they can give you more discount.

I am not very impressed with Rohan Motors, Noida. The finance guys sitting out there they really try to fool you like anything. My advice to all the guys who are planning to buy car is to take the finance directly from the bank and not from the dealer. The dealer keep the margin of their profit.

I directly approached a ICICI Bank executive who happens to be in my company with some discounted plans. I took the EMI plan from him. For 3,85,000 he gave me a EMI of 8132 * 59 {EMI in Advance} where as the Rohan Motors, Noida gave me 8233 earlier. Therefore my Suggestion is to directly reach the bank.

Secondly, Try taking loan from HDFC or SBI or ABN AMRO and a big NO NO NO NO to ICICI. They are really a pain in a after wards.

If you happened to stay in Noida, To get a cheaper deal buy from Delhi where the Ex Show room price is less. The difference comes out to be some where near 3,000 - 6,000 and the discount is more out there.

I am very happy with Maruti Swift but the whole loan process by ICICI is really pain.

Concluding lines, Maruti Swift with the cost of 4,40,000 and the features packed in is worth buying. But the interior quality can be improved to make it a better choice. I feel that I spent more just for Vxi the Lxi is not a bad option too. In Vxi we have Power windows & Manual Central locking which can be neglected and can save 40k. Rest of the things remains same in Lxi & Vxi. I got to know that Power windows have some problem in Swift and about Central locking (with Security Alarm) these days is very easy for the thieves to open by using jammer etc. So go for Swift Lxi and it is worthing paying 4L.

So guys I thought I should make you guys aware so that these loan guys should not fool you. After all it is our hard Earned money.

Last but not the least . Drive Safe. Follow traffic rules diligently
