I am driving Swift VXi for an year now and have clocked around 15000kms. I must say its one of the best vehicle offered by Maruti. It has a smooth drive, comfortable(but not very attractive) interiors, powerful engine and average mileage. I feel it’s the best option among the available hatchbacks. It cruises effortlessly at 120 km/hr.
The problems with this is car is the road grip, security features and clutch placement. Having a high ground clearance, at high speed the car tends to skid off the road. Compared to other hatchbacks like Palio style, Skoda fabia, it has a weak road grip.The placement of the clutch and acceleration pedals makes your feet feel tired for long distances. And, the lack of airbags makes you feel less secure in the car.
I have driven cars like Palio Style, Indica, Fabia but as an overall package, Swift scores more in this segment. For people with budget of 5 – 6 lakhs, I strongly suggest this car
