. I’ve driven a Daewoo Matiz for over 90K kms.... So this one is a Mega Upgrade for me ... ;) OK .... Its been a over 3 month I’ve bought a New SWIFT VXI... (RNS Motors, Bangalore). *Comfort - 8/10 (Rear seats are a bit crampled).
- Power - 9.5/10 (Thats the best part of this Car) * Mileage - 8/10 (So far its been acceptable) * Handling - 9/10 (Very Smooth) * Interiors - 6/10 (Succccks) * Ground Clearance - 7/10 (watch out for speedbrakers its can screw up the chasis) Comfort wise - Its a OK for me ...
My Height (5’10") fits behind the steering wheel. Power - Very Powerful indeed ... I’ve tried this trick of 0-100 in 2nd gear (just once) and Its simply amazing. Try It to Believe It. Mileage - Driven around 4000 kms so far, 2nd service due ...
Done over 3 Long trips 2 to Mysore and One to Madikeri via Dharmasthala. Got around 13 kms in long with AC. Carring 5 adults on-board. Handling - Simply superb ...Absolutely 0 noise or Vibrations... I’ve tried to switch on the ignition several times when the engine is already ON :) ... Interiors - This is the biggest let down from the company...
Very cheap interiors indeed. Ground Clearance - Is quite a concern , can damage the lower body mould easily on bigger speedbrakers. Just a Few add-on’s for those who are tryin to upgrade - (I would suggest to go for these add on’s from JC road shops you get the best of the deal)
Maruti have provided a facility for 2 Din Players. Gives an awesome look to your indash (I’ve fitted a JVC Double-DIN KWXC400). 7500/- Rs (Grey market price) --- Visibility thru rear window is an issue - The high and small rear window on the Swift means you cant see very well when reversing, especially if there are low obstructions behind you ..
So Reverse Sensors is a Must. Approx- 3000-5000/- Rs. --- Alloy wheels would definately add to road stability and looks... Go for alloys if it fits your budget. 14000/- to 25000/- Rs. (Haven’t got the alloys fitted so far) --- AutoCop - 3500 to 5000/- (I’ve fitted an AutoCop DX with Scorpio Relay - costed me 4200 rs).
Just to give you a vague idea/Comparison on the cost of accessories at Maruti and JC road Double Din Player MGA :12, 000 JC Road :7500 Alloys Wheels MGA :22, 000 JC Road :18, 000 Reverse Sensors MGA :5000 JC Road :2500 Auto Cop MGA :5000 JC Road :3500 Scorpio Relay MGA :1500 JC Road :1000 Total(Approx) MGA :45, 500 JC Road :32, 500.
Buying the above accessories at Maruti would be a Rip Off .... Do Not Expect even a Keychain as a compliment from this dealer (RNS) ... Not sure about other dealers in Bangalore ... But Don’t expect any free accessories for this Model... To conclude - I should say its a Car for City conditions... Satisfying so far... Stay tuned for more details ... Thanks, Sandesh Vijay
