I have picked up a swift VDi in September "08" 1.3 Engine is a dare devil under the hood...After days in doing a research I settled in for this VDi.

It has been 5 months since I own this, have done 8000KM. During the last rains it did survive the great floods, but I had faced a very peculiar problem. During the last rains I found that there was some kind of water leakage inside the car...

I could find the front left side door mat had water on it all the time.I was not sure if the water was from any of our wet footwear, I did wipe the water off the door mat with a dry cloth, in the morning I again found some more water on I t, then I did notice that the water was leaking from the front left hand side top corner where the windshield and the roof joins.

Immediately I had reported this incident to Kivraj Motors, they had asked me to bring the car for t hem to analyze what could be wrong. They had forced water on that particular area and found that the water was leaking from the roof and windshield joint

Then they came to a false conclusion that the door was not aligned properly with the gasket so the door mechanic had come to check on that they did a little bit of alignment issues but still they couldn't arrest the leakage. Finally they came to a conclusion that the windshield was not properly pasted on to the windshield frame.

They did fix it now, the problem was solved but still it was a bad experience, Don’t know if any of you had the similar experience, please report to this posting, so that maruti needs to strictly follow their Quality in these areas as well.

Thanks.

Cheers,

Charlie!
