Well, I am just back after checking out Maruti’s new Dzire and am really blown at what a value for money proposition it turned out to be. The fact that it is the best thing that could have happened to the lower A3 segment is an already established conclusion. But with the kind of gizmos and features it comes equipped with, it surely can give many an upper A3 car a run for its money. This can be especially said about the Z variants of the Dzire which are loaded to the hilt with features that only come on higher priced cars and even more.

Luxury features like Climate control, in - dash CD player with steering mounted audio controls, Tilt steering etc. some of which don’t come even in cars like the Honda City, Fiesta, Aveo, Verna.

Safety too hasn’t taken a back seat, the Dzire comes with the latest in active and passive safety features like Dual airbags, ABS and EBD, crumple zones, anti-roll bars etc. Some of these features again are not available in many an upper A3 segment car.

Engine performance and driving dynamics too are very good. The diesel variant is easily one of the best performing diesel sedans in the A3 segment this side of the Verna(too bad it’s stratospherically priced). The petrol too is lively and peppy. A decent suspension and fantastic steering system make it one of the most fun cars to drive.

The Dzire with its lively engines and sporty driving dynamics still manages to retain characteristics which are a hallmark of the Swift.

The Dzire spells “VALUE FOR MONEY”in bold italics and really speaks volumes of Maruti’s prowess in designing and building cars that are well built and still tremendous value for money - factor that gives it an edge over Logan.

Hats off to Maruti for pulling another one out of the bag!
