2 months into waiting for a Swift Dzire - something I never do for a car, but thought will give it an exception since it seemed the most value for money. Had this friend's friend at the dealership who told me that there seems little clue on when I could get it - so decided to drop it.
I look at it this way - if the demand is so high and if the company has not estimated it - then let me look for another. I hear mentions of a 8 to 9 month waiting - godamit - a truck might just run over me while I wait and a newer model or something more desireable say the Fiat Linea might be on its way. I've been thinking about this - as civilized society and sensitive customers, why can't we just boycott products, companies and establishments that have decided to be illogical and take customers for granted. Sure there are others who will want it come what may - but let me be the American Jew who will not use a German car. Maruti violates my rights as a customer.
Over the weekend we braved to lunch at this much-acclaimed eating joint - MTR in Bangalore - a simple 2 and a half hour's wait and all for food that was by no means great. We experienced it - we will never go back - and dissuade as many as we can from - but the guys there in all their indifference will still have enough people thus making them have "no compulsion to change" as a fellow "waiter" told me.
Like Buddha said "Dzire is the root cause of all evil" - let's avoid it:-)
