Maruthi Swift (and Swift Dzire) car is probably one of the most successful and famous vehicle that Maruthi Suzuki company as ever brought. The model (both Swift and Dzire) is so famous that no offers are offered to this/these models! Giving the vehicle within few months itself is an offer! Few other company cars of the same (sedan) category of Swift Dzire are: Toyota Etios, TATA INDIGO CS.
To begin with:
Waiting period: One of the biggest negative of this model is its waiting period. The waiting period for diesel car is more horrible (6- 8 months!). If you want to know what waiting is…..then book a SWIFT DZIRE car. In this 6 – 8 months if there is a price hike be read to spell around 10K – 15K. Another test to test your patience!
About mileage: Maruthi Suzuki cars are sold with this concept. “Our car gives the best mileage in its category”. So no discussion regarding the mileage of any maruthi Suzuki related vehicles. As observed by me the mileage is excellent for a 1200 cc petrol engine and also for its diesel counterpart.
About compartment/leg space: People sitting in the front two seats will agree that large space is provided in SWIFT DZIRE (in SWIFT Hatchback also). But for those who sit in the back seats should feel the space problem. Because of its bucket type of seat, 3 persons sitting on the back of the car is a punishment for a long drive!
About the boot space: Extremely good. It will be a bit exaggeration if I say “You can have a small family in the boot space”!
About the engine: You forget about this. That will not bother you for at least 1 laksh kms! Extremely good engine! Just fill the fuel tank and forget about the engine. Very smooth engine.
About power windows: No comments, nice power windows, very smooth.
About headlights: Nice, sometimes I felt like it should have been more powerful.
About the meters in the dashboard: About the old swift (and dzire also), the speedometer, fuel indicator, rpm meter are all very old types. In the new swift (and dzire also) it is not at all attractive. Very ugly looking. Better if they make all the meters to digital (instead of the analogue).
About the cost: When compared to TOYOTA ETIOS, SWIFT DZIRE is cheaper (taking other things in considerations like: the plastic quality, body quality, the weight, the gauge of the metal, the features etc., ) and might be little bit costlier compared to TATA INDIGO CS.
About the resale value: This is the second biggest thing (other than the mileage) that Maruthi Suzuki people boost of themselves! And true also! The highest resale value for any cars in that category!
About the service: Almost everywhere (sometimes I felt labor charge is too much) service provided by Maruthi Suzuki is excellent. Maximum number of outlets in India is another advantage of Maruthi Suzuki. Almost any part of the country contains a Maruthi mechanic. So no fear of searching for a mechanic even in remote places of India if your vehicle breaks down.
Finally I don’t forget to say: Don’t compare Swift (or Swift Dzire) with Verna fluidic, Mercedes benz(!) or Audi(!) or cars of that type! The class is totally different. When compared with cars of its category surely I strongly endorse swift (or dzire) model to go for.
