The Suzuki Swift is a subcompact car produced by Suzuki in Japan since 2000. Prior to this, the Swift nameplate had been applied to the Suzuki Cultus in numerous export markets.

The fourth generation Swift debuted in Japan on 27 December 2016. The Hatchback is built on the 'HEARTECT' platform which made its debut in 2015 and is the same lightweight platform used for the production of hacthbacks Baleno and Ignis and is equipped with a 1.2 l 4-cylinder Dualjet petrol engine and a 1.0 l 3-cylinder Boosterjet Turbo petrol engine for the Japanese market. In India though, it is expected to come equipped with a 1.2 l 4-cylinder K12B petrol engine and a fiat sourced 1.3 l 4-cylinder DDiS 190 diesel engine. It is also anticipated that the India spec car can also get the 1.0 l 3-cylinder Boosterjet Turbo petrol engine.[29]
